TREND ANALYSIS FOR S/S 19
Many of the spring/ summer 2019 print trends came from a mixed affinity for travel, leisure and wistfulness towards more bohemian times, with this encompassing an abundance of  tie-dye, paisley, and silk scarf patterns. Traditional spring and summer time prints like floral and butterflies also made an appearance, while animal prints, which have been trendy for a few seasons now, firmly remained so for the spring 2019 print trends as well.

THE COWHIDE PRINT
Animal prints have been having their moment all of winter, showing up in both expected and unexpected places, and in totally new silhouettes, especially cowhide patterns, making multiple appearances on the catwalk for the past few seasons, this print has trickled down to Instagram and now the high street. Available in monochrome or neutral tones, it’s a doddle to layer, it works with an array of colors and fabrics and a wearable addition to any wardrobe. Mooo-ve over leopardpython and mock croc because fashion's favorite family of prints is swapping wildlife for the farm life. Everyone from Victoria Beckham and Meghan Markle to Celine Dion and Kylie Jenner has been spotted wearing this print.
First making appearances on the AW18 catwalks at Ralph Lauren, cow print is currently taking over at MissoniRoberto Cavalli and Tory Burch Pre-Fall 2019. A refreshing alternative to the ubiquitous leopard, cow print can be much more understated than its big cat or reptilian cousins.

DISTORTED DYE
The new spring/summer tie-dyes are very modern- says von der Goltz. “From the more sophisticated color combinations to the more elevated fabrics and the unexpected shapes, the new tie-dye is more elevated and fashion forward. The current awareness around buzz words like ‘fast-fashion’ and sustainability is probably partly responsible for the regeneration of tie-dye in fashion today- said Kumari. “The re-generation and prevalence of tie-dye in 2019 derives from the changes to fashion as an industry. The association of sustainability, eco fashion and natural dyes are great influencers of the way in which tie-dye has re-emerged in fashion today. The distorted dye target sophisticated or conservative dressers with a textural approach.
